Tess Raby

Senior Communications Officer

I play a part in community education, which helps keep Queenslanders safe.

An energetic and creative communications specialist with 15 years’ experience, Tess brings her passion for community education to her role as Senior Communications Officer with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES).

“I work across the department to provide communication and marketing advice. I love storytelling,” says Tess.

“It is my role to provide Queenslanders with an insight into our emergency services.

“Our staff and volunteers work tirelessly each and every day to keep Queenslanders safe and build resilient communities—it is my job to tell the story.

“I am editor and contributing photographer of QFES’ bi-monthly magazine Response, and I’m responsible for communications planning, creation and editing across a range of platforms for internal and external projects.

“I work on advertising campaigns, such as If it’s flooded, forget it which means I play an important role in community education and this helps keep Queenslanders safe.

“I am here for Queensland because I want a vibrant, yet stable career which makes a difference.”

Tess is ambitious and looking forward to what lies ahead both in her work and personal life.
