Andrea Mitchell is the Caseload Outreach Clinical Midwife, at Mt Isa Base Hospital, North West Hospital and Health Service.

Andrea flies alternative weeks to Doomadgee and Morning Island, providing midwifery and clinical services to the local communities…and when at the Mt Isa Base Hospital she’s the birthing suite’s midwife.

“My role allows me to really connect with the community,” says Andrea.

“I love giving my maternity clients and their extended families confidence to approach me for their antenatal care. This trust gets the best possible outcome for them and their babies.

“I am here for Queensland to improve better health outcomes for mothers and their babies.”

Outside of work, Andrea likes to exercise, dabble in photography and spend time with her family.
