The Public Service Commission (PSC) has an important role in supporting the Queensland Government’s new whole-of-government Performance Management Framework. The Framework, which is managed by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, is designed to assist agencies:
The Performance Management Framework will also assist agencies in contributing towards the whole-of-government performance targets set out in Toward Q2: Tomorrow’s Queensland, as well as their agency-specific objectives.
The governance body for performance management matters is the Performance Leadership Group (PLG), which comprises the Director-General of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, the Under Treasurer and the Commission Chief Executive of the PSC. The role of the PLG is to identify appropriate actions to improve performance, which may include developing new policy responses, initiating a review or revising performance expectations to take account of new developments. The PLG also reviews CEO performance agreements.
The PSC supports the Performance Management Framework and the Toward Q2 initiative through working in partnership with agencies to improve organisational performance management and building capability through the provision of advice and resources to agencies.
A range of organisational performance management resources are available to Queensland Government agencies from the DPC Performance Management Framework intranet site.
