Attraction and selection of staff

A high-performing Queensland Public Service relies on the recruitment and retention of a skilled, capable and accountable workforce.

The Queensland Government recognises the need to attract and select quality people in order to build a high-performing public sector.  Like all organisations the public sector needs to plan and have processes in place to make informed decisions about their current and future workforce needs.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) establishes policies, guidelines and procedures which support Queensland Government agencies to attract, recruit and maintain a high-performing workforce. The policies and guidelines are underpinned by principles of public service management and employment.

The PSC also provides advice to government and agencies on all workforce management matters.

Further information and resources on the attraction and selection of staff can be found in our Corporate publications section eg Recruitment and selection resources.
