The Public Service Act 2008 created the Public Service Commission (PSC) on 1 July 2008. The PSC provides advice to the Premier and government on the administration of the Queensland Public Service and the management and employment of public service employees.
It also ensures that the public service has the human resource and organisational capacity to deliver on government outcomes. By working collaboratively with all agencies, the PSC aims to ensure that the government’s most valuable resource – its people – are effective in supporting government priorities.
A significant feature of the new Public Service Commission is the Board of Commissioners. The board provides the vision and strategic guidance to deliver innovative solutions to public service workforce and performance issues.
