Senior Executive Service (SES)

The Senior Executive Service (SES) comprises senior executive officers within the Queensland public service, but does not include:

  • chief executives
  • senior officers
  • officers appointed on a contract of employment under section 122 of the Public Service Act 2008

Employment in the SES is designed to ensure that executives:

  • deliver the government’s priorities
  • take accountability for their performance and service delivery
  • develop a public-service wide perspective, and
  • continue their executive development.

The Senior Executive Service Performance and Development Frameworks build a high performing and accountable executive that supports chief and senior executives to deliver the government’s agenda.

See the Chief and Senior Executive Service publications page for forms and publications relating to employment including Declarations of Interests resources.
